Yankees Beware: Big Brother is Watching You

In News That Scares Me:

The U.S. Senate is set to vote on a bill which is “radically redefining and expanding the government’s ability to eavesdrop and search the houses of U.S. citizens without court approval”.
NSA Bill Performs a Patriot Act

I love how Bush’s response to the courts telling him that eavesdropping on Americans is illegal is to change the law. If only life was always that simple.

Combine this with the sending prisoners to secret prisons in Europe for interrogations, and the US is becoming a scary place. At least from the outside looking in. Maybe it’s making the people living in the US feel safer.

What about personal rights? Well, we don’t have time for rights. We have a war on terror to fight here.

    • Because I’m in Vancouver silly.
That would have been fun, but I’m not one of the “9/11 didn’t happen; it’s all a big cover-up to implement the Patriot Act and consolidate power” believer. I agree, the Republicans were waiting for something like this to push through their reforms, but I don’t think they instigated it.
      But what do I know.
